We run a small furniture shop called “Blue Leaf” in the Hida-Takayama region of Gifu Prefecture. Our mission is to bring you furniture and small wooden items that blend seamlessly into daily life, crafted from the rich, natural wood nurtured by Hida’s abundant forests.
As part of launching our new website, we’ve decided to start this blog. Here, we hope to share updates on Blue Leaf’s activities and vision, while also shining a spotlight on the appeal of Hida’s woodworking culture.
Blue Leaf’s Concept

Located in the renowned furniture-producing area of Hida-Takayama, Blue Leaf is a specialized woodworking shop where a small team of highly skilled artisans create top-quality handmade furniture and wooden clocks—selling them directly to customers. We focus on domestic wood sourced primarily from Hida, and every step from processing to finishing is done in-house.
In particular, our signature items—such as clocks, “book-matched” tabletops, and benches—are carefully crafted as “lifetime pieces,” aiming to be cherished by our customers for years to come.
Our Passion for Woodworking

I, too, am active as a woodworking artist, creating clocks and small items using Hida’s locally sourced wood. I pour my passion for wood into each piece I make.
Through Blue Leaf, it’s our greatest motivation to deliver genuine Hida furniture—available nowhere else—straight to our customers, and above all, to share in the joy you experience when welcoming a new piece of furniture into your home.
In Harmony with Hida’s Natural Beauty

Hida-Takayama is surrounded by stunning nature that changes with each season. Harnessing this “power of natural materials” is the foundation of our craft at Blue Leaf.
We constantly strive for designs that let you truly feel the warmth, fragrance, and texture of the wood. If you ever find yourself in Hida-Takayama, please stop by Blue Leaf. We’d be delighted to help bring a new touch of color and comfort into your life through our furniture and wooden accessories.
